CONSOLIDATED NOVELTY CO. New
York, N. Y.
I. Slip
light weight gauze over body, (clothed with brassiere and girdle) with
creases on the sides.
Make a 4 inch cut along the crease on each side for the arm holes.
Cut to shape of neck and shoulder. Cut 8—2 inch strips of gum tape and
seal openings at shoulder—4 on each side.
2. LOWER FRONT Cut about 25 strips of gum tape (measure from hip to
hip for length of strips). Start near
bottom of girdle line and paste strips of tape from left side
to right side—continue until
bust line.
IMPORTANT—All
edges must be securely pasted.
3. LOWER BACK Is done exactly like lower front except paste
strips from right side to left
side.
4. UPPER BACK Cut
about 25 strips of gum tape (measure
the contour length from shoulder
to waist line). Paste up and down.
IMPORTANT—All edges must be securely pasted.
5. BUST Paste short strips to follow shape.
6. After the entire
figure is completely shaped—apply strips of gum tape in criss-cross
over the entire figure.
7. Cut up the
center of the
back (starting from the bottom) and remove
with care. Then paste the cut
edges together again.
MAKE SURE THE CUT EDGES MATCH
Then again liberally paste gum
tape all over the figure
to make
it sturdier.
Mount on stand as
per instructions in Paragraph 8.
8. TO CONSTRUCT STAND
Place figure on heavy cardboard and outline bottom of figure with
pencil. Cut cardboard on pencil line and make a hole directly in center
large enough to fit broomstick.
Wad a stick
(similar to a broomstick) with cloth as illustrated.
Extend this slick up
thru the figure with top of the cloth
wadding partially protruding thru the neck of the figure.
Stitch wadding securely to figure at neck line with strong thread.
Slip outline cardboard
up stick and place within lower edge of figure.
To hold bottom securely—use strong thread and sew from bottom edge
of form to the center stick. Make one loop around stick and sew to opposite
side of figure. Repeat this operation
until figure
is held in place as by spokes in a wheel.
To make base to hold form—construct base similar
to Christmas Tree stand.
