Starting in the early 1900's in
Ireland, the wives of Irish fishermen would knit their husbands sweaters.
These sweaters came to be known as Aran sweaters, named for the island.
There are more then 2 dozen different stitches used to knit these sweater.
Each stitch has a different meaning, some religious and some
superstitious. The stitches used in this sweater are: the
Cable or Rope stitch standing for good luck and safety and the Moss stitch
standing for wealth.
Exceptionally well
made in a very warm 100% wool. Label
reads, "J. Crew Made in China".
Immaculate like new condition with no flaws to note.
Size tag reads L, but
please check measurements.
